Ms. Abby Richardson has been an educator for nine years and this is her fourth year at St. Agatha. Ms. Richardson is our 6th-grade homeroom teacher. She also teaches middle school science and is the STEM teacher for all of our students from kindergarten to 8th grade. Ms. Richardson also serves as our resident technology expert and helps manage our school website and technology systems.
Ms. Richardson appreciates the involvement of the families in their children's education. She finds it quite rewarding to work with parents who are so connected to the school and committed to building a strong community.
A highlight from the 6th-grade life science unit this year was when they concluded their unit on cells by making edible cells and sharing them with the class in a yummy Cell-abration.
The 7th-grade students had a virtual field trip experience to the Grand Canyon to learn about the age of the earth through rock layers. This immersive experience allowed them to interact in real time with a park ranger from the Grand Canyon via Zoom.
In 8th grade physical science, students had a lot of fun putting their physics and engineering skills to the test through building projects where they designed and constructed contraptions such as Newton's Cradkes, Mouse Trap Powered Cars, Rube Goldberg Devices, and Hot Cocoa Keepers.
Ms. Richardson's favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 6:8- "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, Here am I. Send me!"
